The Law "On the Nagorno Karabakh Republic Coat of Arms" was adopted by the Supreme Council on January 26, 1993

REGULATIONS
ON THE NKR COAT OF ARMS

1. The Nagorno Karabakh Republic Coat of Arms is a symbol of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic state sovereignty, independent and legal state, unity of the peoples living on its territory.

2. The Nagorno Karabakh Republic Coat of Arms depicts an eagle with outstretched wings below the sunbeams and the crown of wealth of the Artashessian Dynasty.
There is the image of the sculpture "Our Mountains and We" ("Tatik and Papik") against the background of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic National Flag and mountain Kirs. Below, in the eagle's claws, there are vines, mulberries and wheat-ears. In the upper semi-circle there is an Armenian inscription: "The Republic of Nagorno Karabakh-Artsakh". On the coloured image of the NKR coat of arms the eagle is brown with black spots, its head is white and claws are orange. The sunbeams and wheat-ears are also orange. The Nagorno Karabakh Republic State Flag is three-colored: red, blue and orange. On the flag there is a white 5-toothed carpet pattern, which begins from the verges of the right side of the cloth and joins on the one third of the flag. Mountain Kirs is blue against the background of which there is an image of the sculpture "Tatik and Papik". Here are used black, white, brown and orange colours. The Artashessian crown of wealth is light orange. The vines are black, white and brown. The leaves of the grapes and mulberry trees are green and the mulberries are white. The inscription "The Republic of Nagorno Karabakh -Artsakh" is light-orange edged with a black line.

3. The image of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic coat of arms is placed:

a) On the buildings of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic Supreme Council, the Nagorno Karabakh Republic Council of Ministers, the Nagorno Karabakh Republic Ministries and State Committees, other bodies under the Nagorno Karabakh Republic Council of Ministers, the Nagorno Karabakh Republic Supreme Court, the Nagorno Karabakh Republic People's Court and the Military Tribunal, the Nagorno Karabakh Republic Prosecutor's Office and other bodies of the Prosecutor's office, the Nagorno Karabakh Republic Diplomatic Representatives and Consular Institutions.

b) In the halls where the sessions of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic Supreme Council, sittings of the Chairmanship of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic Supreme Council, the Council of Ministers and Court hearings are held.

c) On the seals and letter heads of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic Supreme Council, the Nagorno Karabakh Republic Council of Ministers, the Nagorno Karabakh Republic Ministries and State Committees, other bodies under the Nagorno Karabakh Republic Council of Ministers, the Nagorno Karabakh Republic Supreme Court and Military Tribunal, the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Prosecutor's Office and other bodies of the Prosecutor's Office, as well as enterprises, institutions and committees.

d) On the bank notes of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic State Bank, Treasury and State loan notes subordinated to the Republic.

e) On the bulletins of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic Supreme Council and the Council of Ministers.

f) On the passport of a citizen of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic.

g) On the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic boundary posts.

    According to the Nagorno Karabakh Republic Legislation, other cases of obligatory reproduction of the image of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic Coat of Arms can also be provided.
    A reproduced image of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic Coat of Arms, irrespective of its size, must always correspond to the colored or black-and-white one enclosed to the present regulations.
